AIR Offers Intro to Photographic Screenprinting Workshop

During the Intro to Photographic Screenprinting Workshop, you will learn the basics of photographic silkscreen and its applications in a relaxed studio atmosphere at Artists Image Resource (AIR)! This class teaches Photographic Silkscreen techniques using direct emulsion with hand-painted and digitally printed film positives. Participants will learn how to prepare their image for the screen using Adobe Photoshop software, coat and expose a screen, how to engineer a multiple color print, and CMYK process printing.

This is an introductory to mid-level printmaking class. No prior knowledge of printmaking is required. Experienced printmakers are encouraged to join the class to re-learn skills or to experiment with new imagery. Printing doesn’t stop here! After this class, you’ll be confident to use AIR’s Open Studio hours!

The January Workshop will be four sessions held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursdays, January 11, 18, 25, and February 1, 2018 at Artists Image Resource, located at 518 Foreland Street. For more information, or to register for the class, visit the Intro to Photographic Screenprinting: January Workshop event page, or email info@artistsimageresource.org. Class size is limited.
