City Books Experience: Arts & Literature in Old Allegheny

Arlan, the owner of City Books, is hosting a new Airbnb Experience! Arts & Literature in Old Allegheny is a 90-minute walking introduction to the legacy of arts and letters in Pittsburgh, and the Northside in particular. The walk focuses on the birthplaces and early lives of Mary Cassatt, Robinson Jeffers, Stephen Foster, Andrew Carnegie, Willa Cather, Andy Warhol, Martha Graham, Gertrude Stein, and Mary Roberts Rinehart.

After the walking tour, guests will return to City Books to enjoy a white-glove exploration of the antique books in their inventory. Participants will handle manuscripts and learn book-collecting jargon as well as the important features booksellers consider when pricing antique, collectible, and used texts. Light snacks and beverages will be provided.

The City Books Experience will be held on select weekend dates. For more details about the new City Books Experience, or to schedule your tour, visit the Arts & Literature in Old Allegheny event page. City Books is located at 908 Galveston Avenue in Allegheny West.
