MCG Jazz 30th Anniversary Performance Series Continues with Bob Mintzer Big Band and New York Voices

Since 1987, MCG Jazz has brought audiences together with jazz artists at its 350-seat music hall in Manchester. Their performance series, one of the oldest in the nation, is an anchor of Pittsburgh cultural and community life. All arts and music programs of Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild share a common vision born from founder Bill Strickland’s personal experience – that through direct involvement in the making of art and through exposure to the masters who teach and perform it, our lives will be enriched, even transformed. The 30th Anniversary Performances take place at MCG Jazz, located at 1815 Metropolitan Street in Manchester.

Bob Mintzer Big Band and New York Voices
Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1 at 8:00 pm
This will mark the US debut of this pairing of acts. Their show will include three new Minzer compositions and six brand new arrangements co-arranged by Minzer and Darmon Meader (vocalist and arranger for New York Voices). The results will blend swing, bebop, and Latin styles for a one-of-a-kind performance of big band and vocal talent.
