Jazz Poetry Month: Oliver Lake & Li-Young Lee
Friday, September 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Come to Alphabet City for an evening of jazz with Oliver Lake and company. Between jazz sets, Oliver will collaborate with Tuhin Das, Rickey Laurentiis, Yona Harvey, and Li-Young Lee for a jazz and poetry interlude. Saxophonist, poet, and composer, Oliver Lake‘s artistic vision remains daring, unique, and uncompromising, helping him maintain his place as one of the preeminent saxophonists in the progressive jazz scene. Featured musicians for the evening will be Yoichi Uzeki on piano, Robert Sabin on bass, Gene Lake on drums, and Bruce Williams on alto and soprano sax.
