Mattress Factory Mini-Factory: Big Ideas for Small People

Mattress Factory Mini-Factory is an interactive learning program designed for children ages 3-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. Participants are invited to explore, play, and grow! Focused on a variety of themes and installations, participants can enjoy story time and work on a collaborative hands-on project. Mini-Factory is a mobile, adaptable pop-up space students can help to build and ten use to explore ideas inspired by Mattress Factory artists. Upcoming Mini-Factory sessions include:

June 23, 2018: REACHING
Inspired by William Anastasi’s blindfold drawing, Mini artists will make art that encourages them to think big and use their whole bodies.

July 14, 2018: TOGETHER
Inspired by Winnifred Lutz’s garden installation, Mini artists will make art that requires them to collaborate with nature.

July 28, 2018: everyBODY
Inspired by Yayoi Kusama, Mini artists will use their bodies as a living canvas for shapes and colors. 

August 11, 2018: LISTEN
Inspired by Rolf Julius, Mini art sound artists will create sound sculptures that can be seen and heard. 

August 25, 2018: RENEW
Inspired by Bill Woodrow, Mini artists will take apart take apart discarded objects to create something brand new. 

Mattress Factory Mini-Factory is held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the Mattress Factory.
