Big Ideas for Small People at the Mattress Factory

Mini-Factory is an interactive learning program designed for children ages 3-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. Participants are invited to explore, play, and grow! Mini-Factory is a mobile, adaptable pop-up space that students can help to build and then use to explore new ideas and concepts.The program uses contemporary installation art as the basis for enabling exploration. Mini-Factory: TEXTURE
September 9 from 10:00 to 11:00 am
Bumpy, spiky, silky… TEXTURE is more than touch! Let’s talk, look and learn about how artists use TEXTURE in their work.

Mini-Factory: LIGHT
September 23 from 10:00 to 11:00 am
LIGHT comes from nature, machines, and many different sources, providing artists with inspiring ways to create. Come explore LIGHT at the Mattress Factory.

Mini-Factory: ME!

Loud as a lion, quiet as a clam, strong as an ox… we feel many different ways on many different days. Let’s explore self-identity through art at the Mattress Factory.

SEASONS bring new colors, sounds, and traditions. Let’s explore how artists use the SEASONS for inspiration in their work.

There is more than meets the eye with COLOR. Let’s explore how artists use COLOR to create, to mix and to trick our eyes at the Mattress Factory.

Artists transform spaces at the Mattress Factory. Join us for a special program as we explore, create and INSTALL our own artwork at the museum!
