Come to the Mattress Factory and join Chamber Music Pittsburgh for a viewing of the GRAMMY Award-nominated documentary, The Music of Strangers. The film follows The Silk Road Ensemble, an international collective created by acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The Ensemble exemplifies music’s ability to blur geographical boundaries, blend disparate cultures, and inspire hope for both artists and audiences. The event features a live performance by AppalAsia, a Pittsburgh-based ensemble of dulcimer, erhu, banjo, and vocals that combines the influence of their folk-roots with original composition and inspired improvisation.
The Music of Strangers Film and a performance by AppalAsia will be held on Tuesday, January 23 from 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the Mattress Factory. Tickets are Pay-What-You-Wish! $10 is suggested.
