New Hazlett CSA Presents Monteze Freeland’s Kalopsia

The New Hazlett Theater is more than just a building.  It’s an incubator for artists. The New Hazlett embraces a broad range of artists and arts organizations, hosting diverse audiences and encouraging the success of Pittsburgh’s performing arts community. In addition, it creates an energetic arena for arts events and community dialogue in its Northside neighborhood and beyond.

Monteze Freeland’s Kalopsia
Thursday, June 1 at 8:00 pm
Kalopsia is the delusion of things being more beautiful than what they are. Both courageous and comic, this daring new musical takes a look inside the world of mental illness in the black community. Kalopsia is a no-holds-barred journey into a surreal world of music, glam, faith, and healing. Kalopsia is part of the New Hazlett CSA Performance Series, the first and only performance series of its kind, that introduces you to the freshest, most original artists in the Pittsburgh area. From dance to music, original plays to experimental animation, the New Hazlett CSA pushes the boundaries of performance at every show.
