Do you live on the Northside and have an idea for a small scale project that helps strengthen your community? If so, you can apply for a One Northside Mini-Grant. The program ignites resident-led community projects with up to $1,000 and the development support of New Sun Rising and the Mini-Grant Street Team. How would you improve the quality of education, employment, place, safety, or health in your Northside community?
Applications for the One Northside Mini-Grants are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed bi-monthly. Decisions are typically announced at the beginning of the month. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on:
- Friday, August 21, 2020
- Friday, October 16, 2020
- Friday, November 20, 2020 (pending fund availability)

On Monday, August 24 at 12:00 pm, New Sun Rising and One Northside will host a showcase of resident-driven mini-grant projects that were completed in 2019 through August 2020. Since 2016, through the support of The Buhl Foundation, New Sun Rising has helped 139 Northside residents and community members put their ideas into action through the One Northside Consensus Plan’s focus on Quality of Education, Employment, Place, Safety, and Health.
