Northside Community Data Workshop

Come to the Woods Run Carnegie Library for a Northside Community Data Workshop to learn about community data and how it can support you or your organization! All workshops will be held at Woods Run Carnegie Library, located at 1201 Woods Run Avenue. These workshops are free and presented by the Center for Social and Urban Research at the University of Pittsburgh. Data 101: Finding Stories in Data
Wednesday, October 25 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
Learn how to find data stories with real Northside datasets. This workshop will introduce the typical kinds of stories that can be found in datasets and give participants practice in finding their own data stories.

Critical Thinking About Data
Wednesday, November 1 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm
This training will focus on stories/data that have been published about the area. Find out how the data was collected, visualized, and how the narrative was formed. Participants will have an opportunity to use skills gained in previous workshops and think critically and discuss how stories are constructed and authored.
