AIR Offers Intro to Photographic Screen Print Workshop

You can learn the basics of photographic silkscreen and it’s applications in a relaxed studio atmosphere during a 4-session workshop at Artists Image Resource (AIR).

The Intro to Photographic Screen Print Workshop teaches Photographic Silkscreen techniques using direct emulsion with hand-painted and digitally printed film positives. Participants will learn how to prepare their image for the screen using Adobe Photoshop, coat and expose a screen, engineer a multiple color print and CMYK (Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, and Black) process printing. Class assignments will use both pre-made and custom screens with imagery participants bring to the class.

This is an introductory to mid-level printmaking class. No prior knowledge of printmaking is required. Experienced printmakers are encouraged to join the class to re-learn skills or to experiment with new imagery. Printing doesn’t stop here! After this class you’ll be confident to use AIR’s Open Studio hours!

Intro to Photographic Screen Print Workshop will be held on Tuesdays, from October 3 to October 24 at Artists Image Resource, located at 518 Foreland Street in Historic Deutschtown. For more information, or to purchase your tickets, visit the Intro to Photographic Screen Print Workshop event page. If you have questions, email Tresa Varner.
