Student Police Academy at Sarah Heinz House

Teens can learn what it’s like to be a Pittsburgh Police Officer by attending the Student Police Academy. Participants will learn from instructors of Pittsburgh’s Police Academy and find out what it’s like to walk in their shoes! This is a good opportunity to learn about, and be a part of, the real side of police work. Participants in the Student Police Academy will have an opportunity to experience Patrol Tactics, Fire Arm Safety, Crime Scenes, Emergency Response, SWAT, K-9 Unit, Use of Force, and Search and Seizure.

Classes for the next Student Police Academy will start at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10 at Sarah Heinz House. If interested, visit the Student Police Academy webpage to find additional information and the registration forms. The program is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. If you have questions, email John Tokarski or call 412-255-2117Registration ends on Saturday October 6, 2017.
