Wood Warbler Weekend with the National Aviary

The Wood Warbler Weekend overnight trip is a fantastic way to experience the excitement of spring warbler migration at places along the Northwest Ohio Lakeshore. You will depart from the National Aviary promptly at 6:00 am on Saturday, May 20. The first destination will be the renowned Black Swamp Bird Observatory, an internationally important center for bird research, education, and conservation since 1992. After a day of bird banding and bird watching, you will stay overnight at the historic Island House Hotel in Port Clinton. You will bird all day Sunday, stopping at a variety of excellent habitats for seeing warblers and other migrant songbirds, and then return to the National Aviary at 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 21

You tour leader for the weekend will be National Aviary Ornithologist, Bob Mulvihill, who has 45 years of experience watching birds. Bob’s trips are not just for bird-watchers – they are for all nature-lovers and outdoor enthusiasts! For additional information, visit the Wood Warbler Weekend event page. To register, email Audrey Beichner, or call 412-258-9463.
