21+ Night: SciFi

Discover the science behind science fiction during Carnegie Science Center’s 21+ SciFi! Watch the feature film Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey, in the Science Stage. After the movie, Carnegie Science Center’s in-house astrophysics expert and Buhl Planetarium Director, Dr. Brendan Mullan, will discuss the movie and answer your questions.

During the evening, be sure to meet a Stormtrooper from Garrison Carida, a chapter of the 501st Legion, or a member of the Rebel Legion. Mingle with members of the Steel City Ghostbusters and snap a selfie with the Pittsburgh Ecto-1, a replica of the ghost busting hearse, or the Steel City Time Machine.

Learn about the origins of Science Fiction starting with Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein in the Works Theater show, Frankenscience. The show features the Science Center’s large Tesla coil, a one-million volt display of light and sound.

21+ Night will be held on Friday, April 24, from 6:00 until 10:00 pm. As always, 21+ Night features cash bars and snacks available for purchase. For more information, or to register, visit the Carnegie Science Center’ 21+ event page.
