City of Asylum @ Alphabet City, located at 40 West North Avenue, is the permanent home for City of Asylum programming and the arts. Come to Alphabet City for a reading and audience Q&A with visiting City of Asylum writer-in-residence Amara Ruth Okolo in conversation with Pittsburgh publisher Rachel Ekstrom, as they discuss, investigate, and explore love and romance writing across nations and across cultures. Amara Ruth Okolo will read from her work Black Sparkle Romance. Amara Nicole Okolo is a lawyer and writer based in Abuja, Nigeria. This program will be held downstairs in the intimate Word Cellar.
