Celebrate Black History Month at Allegheny Carnegie Library

To celebrate Black History MonthAllegheny Carnegie Library is hosting several free events throughout the month of February.  Allegheny Carnegie Library is located at 1230 Federal Street.

  • Teen Time: Black History Month Screenprinting
    Wednesday, February 5 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
    Screenprinting workshop celebrating authentic voices and the vote during Black History Month.

  • Labs Workshop: Black History Month
    Tuesday, February 11 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm
    Cover what matters to you! Use audiovisual equipment to create personalized “campaign videos” around local issues.

  • Celebrate: Black History Month
    Monday, February 17 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
    Celebrate Black History Month with activities for the whole family. Recommended for children in grades K-5.

  • Storytime: Black History Month Special
    Friday, February 21 from 10:30 to 11:00 am
    Bring the whole family for books, songs, and rhymes with a special focus on books featuring African Americans. Through the joy of reading, children will expand their vocabulary, exercise the imagination, and develop important social and emotional skills. Recommended for children birth-36 months and their caregivers.

  • Let’s Play: Black History Month Bingo
    Thursday, February 27 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm
    Get creative! Children will explore a variety of materials with their hands, minds, and imaginations. Working with art supplies helps children develop fine motor coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions while expressing their creativity. Recommended for children grades K-5.
