Children’s Museum: Free Outdoor Fun for the Little Ones

Bring your child to the Children’s Museum for Outdoor Fun for the Little Ones! This program is designed for the youngest learners and their caregivers and will encourage play and sensory experiences with plants and nature. This program is free and registration is not required. These free events do not require museum admission. 

Garden Buddies: Colors
Thursday, July 15 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Visit Children’s Museum’s garden for Garden Buddies! During this session, your child will be exploring all the beautiful colors of the garden by doing a scavenger hunt, using paints made by things growing in the garden, and dyeing fabric with flowers! Come and explore the rainbow.

Little Cryptids: Bigfoot
Thursday, July 22 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Come to the Children’s Museum to explore Owen Lowery Cryptid Critter Crawl! This week your child will meet at Big Foots shoe. Participants will listen to the story of Big Foot, make art, and read stories.

Garden Buddies: Celebrate the Sun!

Gather in the Garden to celebrate the SUN and all it does for us and the garden!

Little Cryptids: Nessie’s Neck Cover
Thursday, August 5 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Meet in the Children’s Museum Garden to explore Nessie’s Neck Cover! Together, participants will listen to the story of Nessie, make meditation chains, read stories, and do a little power-pose yoga.

Garden Buddies: Shadows
Thursday, August 12 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
The garden is full of so many wonders and mysteries. Participants will spend time in the garden identifying shadows, trying to cast them, and making some shadow puppets made from things found in the garden!

Little Cryptids: Puddle of Squonk
Thursday, August 19 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Meet at one of the Cryptid Crawl stops and delve deeper into one of the cryptids! Participants will uncover the mysterious creature though mystery-solving, stories, dramatic play, arts, and making. 

Garden Buddies: Pollinator Party
Thursday, August 26 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

Meet in the Garden and celebrate some of the hardest working friends in the garden, the pollinators! Taste some honey, play some games, make flower crowns, and celebrate all the hard work that the pollinator friends have done this summer.
