Create Pysanky Eggs at the National Aviary

Learn the basics of Pysanky, the traditional Ukrainian art of creating beautiful Easter eggs using colorful dyes and wax resist (batik) method.  Each participant will get his or her own set of patterns, wax and kitska – the pen used for drawing on your egg with wax. At the end of the class, you will take home your decorated egg and your decorating kit, so you can make more pysanky at home!

Creating Pysanky Eggs will be held at the National Aviary on Saturday, March 12 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. Advance registration is required. For more information, or to purchase tickets, call 412-258-9445.
