In celebration of the new paperback edition of their fascinating book Allegheny City: A History of Pittsburgh’s North Side, the public is invited to join co-authors Dan Rooney and Carol Peterson at Community College of Allegheny County on the North Side, for a discussion and book signing on Tuesday, December 16.
The event will be held on the first floor of CCAC’s Byers Hall, at the intersection of Galveston and Ridge Avenue, beginning at 4:30 pm. In addition to the new paperback, copies of the original hard cover will be available for sale and signing.
Dan Rooney is chairman of the Pittsburgh Steelers and former U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. Carol Peterson is a well-known architectural historian who specializes in the buildings, homes and communities of Pittsburgh. Pennsylvania Heritage Magazine said Allegheny City “takes readers on a fascinating and often surprising street-level tour of this vibrant, colorful and proud place.”
