A series of six films and shorts that explore the realities of the criminal justice system is scheduled to be shown at Artists Image Resource (AIR). The first film of the series will be Gideon’s Army – the 2013 documentary that follows the personal stories of Travis Williams, Brandy Alexander and June Hardwick, three young public defenders who are part of a small group of idealistic lawyers in the Deep South challenging the assumptions that drive a criminal justice system strained to the breaking point.
Gideon’s Army will be shown on Saturday, February 27 from 1:00 until 4:00 pm at Artists Image Resource, located at 518 Foreland Street in Historic Deutschtown. The film showing will be followed by soup and dialogue led by Maritza Mosquera. The scheduled films for this series are:
