City of Asylum @ Alphabet City, located at 40 West North Avenue, is the permanent home for City of Asylum programming and the arts. It promises to be a hub for Pittsburgh’s readers and writers, jazz and small-scale music and performance, and artistic experimentation. It is a home for diverse voices from around the globe – a place where Pittsburgh meets the world and the world meets Pittsburgh. George DeLancey Quartet
Wednesday, January 22 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm
Come to Alphabet City for an evening of jazz with the George DeLancey Quartet celebrating the release of their second album, ParadiseGeorge DeLancey is a native of Cambridge, OH, and a veteran of the New York City Jazz Scene. Jonathan Beshay is a jazz saxophonist, bandleader, and composer and has been with the Winard Harper’s band for more than two years. Theron Brown currently resides in Akron, Ohio, where he is a professor of Jazz Piano at Kent State University, and is immensely involved in promoting jazz music and the arts.
