New Hazlett Theater is more than just a building. It’s an incubator for artists. The Theater embraces a broad range of artists and arts organizations, hosting diverse audiences and encouraging the success of Pittsburgh’s performing arts community. In addition, it creates an energetic arena for arts events and community dialogue in its Northside neighborhood.

Wali Jamal has performed in all ten plays in the American Century Cycle by August Wilson. He will be the only actor in the world to perform all ten plus this one-man show, How I Learned What I Learned. Presented by Ever Forward Productions, this play is an autobiographical play by Pittsburgh’s own August Wilson. This solo show allows us a look into the life of one of the most celebrated playwrights of the twentieth century through stories about friends, work, racism, music, and love.
