Howie Alexander Trio Performs as New Jazz Age Goes Virtual

The New Jazz Age Goes Virtual!

MCG Jazz presents its Spring 2021 Streaming Concert Series that includes seven Premieres and one Star-Studded Gala Finale.

The next performance in the series features Pittsburgh pianist Howie Alexander. Howie was selected as one of the ensemble leaders for the MCG Jazz Musicians Performance Fund last spring when the pandemic first hit the US. This concert captures the new music that Howie and the trio created as the fund’s project. The evening of original music and new arrangements of familiar tunes is supported by fellow Pittsburghers Glyn Loyd on bass and James Johnson, III on drums. This concert was performed on the MCG Jazz Stage on Wednesday, December 2, 2020.

Howie Alexander Trio’s streaming concert begins on Friday, March 12 at 7:00 pm and will be available until Thursday, March 25. For more information, or to register for your free virtual seat, visit the Howie Alexander Trio event page. If you have questions, call 412-322-0800.
