The Modern Cafe was established in 1933 and on December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment to the US Constitution was created to ratify the 18th Amendment, which mandated Prohibition on alcohol. In honor of Pittsburgh Libations Week, The Modern is teaming up with the awesome folks at Wigle Whiskey to bring you Illegal Libations: Prohibition Cocktail Night! Enjoy cocktails like French 75, Bees Knees, Manhattans, Gin Rickeys, and more! 

Illegal Libations: Prohibition Cocktail Night will be held on Friday, October 19 from 5:00 to 11:00 pm at The Modern Cafe, located at 862 Western Avenue in Allegheny West. No tickets are needed! Grab your friends, dress up – if you’d like! – and come celebrate Pittsburgh’s amazing local libation scene. The Modern will be accepting donations for Lending Hearts, an organization that helps pediatric and young adult cancer patients.
