Learn About the Irish Community on Pittsburgh’s Northside

Did you know that the North Side once boasted one of the largest Irish communities in Pittsburgh? Come to Carnegie Library – Allegheny to learn all about the Irish Community of Pittsburgh’s Northside during the next event in Allegheny City Society‘s Lecture Series.

This free lecture will be presented by Gerard O’Neil, who has lived in the Pittsburgh area for over twenty years and has an MA in public history from Duquesne University, where he currently works as an archivist. Mr. O’Neil has worked with many Irish bands and organizations in his capacity as a sound engineer, helping them bring the sounds of Ireland to Pittsburgh.

The Irish Community on Pittsburgh’s North Side Lecture will be presented on Monday, March 28 at 6:00 pm at Carnegie Library – Allegheny. Registration is required for this event. You can register for the lecture online, or by calling 412-237-1890.
