Mattress Factory Mini-Factory is an interactive learning program designed for children ages 3-5 years old and their parents or caregivers. Participants are invited to explore, play, and grow! Focused on a variety of themes and installations, participants can enjoy story time and work on a collaborative hands-on project. Mini-Factory is a mobile, adaptable pop-up space students can help to build and ten use to explore ideas inspired by Mattress Factory artists. Mini-Factory sessions include:
September 8, 2018: SPRINKLE
Puffy, fluffy painting with sprinkles on top! Confetti, fairy dust and rainbow flakes galore.
September 22, 2018: POKE
Sticks affixed with clay and flowers fastened in crowns. Construct something sensational with treasures from nature.
October 13, 2018: SPIN
Turntable painting, twisting spirals and scribble spinners.
October 27, 2018: WEAVE
Over and under, back and forth. What will you catch in your web?
November 10, 2018: DRIP
Blobs and globs. Drips and drops. Get moving with gravity painting!
November 24, 2018: STICK
Rip it, tear it, snip it, stick it! Make a sticky collage that’s a tactile delight!
December 8, 2018: BEND
Form a wire-wrapped mobile with fabulous finds from the cool trash collection!
Mattress Factory Mini-Factory is held on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the Mattress Factory.
