MCG Jazz presents a CD celebration concert for Jared Sims’ new release, “Analogy of the Sun.” Jared is a musician and recording artist specializing in saxophone, woodwinds, jazz, funk, and beyond. All the compositions being performed were written by Jared and feature an all-star Pittsburgh band including Reggie Watkins on trombone, Alton Merrell on piano, Jeff Grubbs on bass, and David Throckmorton on drums. The music is challenging, diverse and swingin’, exploring Jared’s playing on the baritone sax as well as the flute. This concert was performed live on the MCG Jazz Stage on February 10, 2021.
