Medieval Weaving Techniques Displayed at Children’s Museum

Come to the Children’s Museum to enjoy Guest Artisans from the BMDL Fiber Guild in MAKESHOP. View medieval weaving techniques and learn how to make and decorate fabric without benefits of modern tools and technology.

The BMDL Fiber Guild is a part of the Barony Marche of the Debatable Lands, a local group of the Society for Creative Anachronism, an international organization dedicated to researching and re-creating skills of pre-seventeenth century Europe. The group is enthusiastic about all aspects of fiber arts in the Middle Ages, from spinning and felting to weaving and embroidery.

The Guest Artisans of the Society for Creative Anachronism Fiber Guild will be at the Children’s Museum on Sunday, March 5, from 12:00 until 3:00 pm. For more information, visit the Guest Artisans event page.
