Outback Bash at the National Aviary

Grab your best mates, leave your jumpers at the door, and escape to summer down under during the Outback Bash at the National Aviary!

There’s no need to venture into the untamed outback to get a closer look at the wildlife. The National Aviary’s feathered Australian locals will come to you! Chat with the parrots, laugh with the Kookaburra, and learn why the penguins hate the cold as much as you do.

During the evening, you will be able to get up close to the wilder side of Australian wildlife, as a visiting tarantula and scorpion make a guest appearance! You can hand-feed the Rainbow Lorikeets, create outback themed enrichment for the Aviary’s birds, see the National Aviary’s newest free flight show, “Nature’s Voice” featuring Nigel the Kookaburra, and so much more. You can cool down with a drink from the cash bar. Delectable bites fresh from the barbie will be available for purchase.

The 21+ Outback Bash will be held on Friday, February 19, from 6:00 until 10:00 pm at the National Aviary. Every dollar you spend while visiting the Outback Bash supports the National Aviary’s education, avian medicine, and conservation programs both locally and internationally. For more information, or to purchase your tickets, visit the Outback Bash event page.
