Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance is a farmer-owned cooperative in Southwestern Pennsylvania. As a group of more than 30 member farms they deliver fruits, vegetables, and other farm foods to customers in the Pittsburgh area through Community Supported Agriculture subscriptions and online Farm Stands. Allegheny City Central is fortunate that the Children’s Museum is a host site for both of these programs.
North Side residents can conveniently pick up fresh locally grown grocery products all year round. The Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance – Farm Stand Program makes a stop in the North Side at the Children’s Museum between 4:00 and 6:30 pm bi-weekly throughout the year. There is no commitment to purchase regularly, and no minimum order. Shoppers can order fresh products, such as apples, eggs, olive oil, coffee, cider, cheese, meat, pasta, flour, jam, fresh greens, herbs, carrots, potatoes and other root vegetables, winter squash, garlic, yogurt, butter, coleslaw, pickles, milk, mushrooms, salsa and more!
Once a shopper pre-orders the products they wish to purchase, Penn’s Corner Farm Alliance will collect what has been ordered from local farmers and bring the items to the Children’s Museum. The next drop off date at the Children’s Museum will be Monday, January 19.
