Rhodes Revisited Public Reception

The Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild will be holding a public reception for Rhodes Revisited, an exhibition of inspirational works by the acclaimed artist, author, and educator, Daniel Rhodes.

Daniel Rhodes was the first visiting artist to conduct a residency at Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild in 1989. Hosting an artist of such status helped to establish MCG as a world class center for ceramics. The pieces in this exhibition represent an artist with an enormous amount of knowledge, experience, and creativity. One who dedicated his life to his craft, and to sharing his passion with others.

Rhodes authored numerous books throughout his life. The first book, Clay and Glazes for the Potter, was published in 1957 and remains popular and influential to this day. His other books cover a variety of ceramic topics, including form and design, kiln construction, and materials science.

The Rhodes Revisited exhibition is running now until March 20 at the Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild. The public reception is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
