The Warhol began the Sound Series in 2004 as a consistent and ongoing concert series featuring a broad range of artists and bands that increasingly blur genres and sensibilities of contemporary independent music. Performances take place in a variety of venues, ranging from The Warhol theater, which offers an intimate performance experience with warm acoustics and strong sound clarity, to the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland.
The Warhol welcomes back the composer and producer Ryan Lott (aka Son Lux), returning as a trio with guitarist-composer Rafiq Bhatia and drummer Ian Chang. Lott’s first three albums (on Joyful Noise Records), earned him various year-end awards, including NPR’s Best New Artist in 2008. Lott’s wide range of collaborators include Richard Perry (Arcade Fire), Beyoncé producer Boots, Sufjan Stevens, Vijay Iyer, and Nico Muhly.
Sound Series: An Evening with Son Lux will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 8:00 pm. For more information, visit Sound Series: An Evening with Son Lux webpage. This performance is standing room only. Doors open at 7:30 pm.
