Sound Series: Peter Evans Septet at the Warhol

The Warhol began the Sound Series in 2004 as a consistent and ongoing concert series featuring a broad range of artists and bands that increasingly blur genres and sensibilities of contemporary independent music. The following Sound Series Performances will take place at The Warhol Theater, which offers an intimate performance experience with warm acoustics and strong sound clarity.

Sound Series: Peter Evans Septet
Tuesday, April 11 at 8:00 pm
The Warhol welcomes New York City-based trumpet player and improviser/composer Peter Evans. Evans is on tour supporting his latest release Genesis, that features his dynamic septet: Mazz Swift, violin; Sam Pluta, live electronics; Ron Stabinsky, piano and synthesizers; Tom Blancarte, bass; Levy Lorenzo, percussion and electronics; and Jim Black, drums. Evans experiments at the borders of avant-garde jazz and new music, and he has collaborated with a range of fellow boundary-breaking artists. He is best known as a member of the subversive combo Mostly Other People Do the Killing with bassist Moppa Elliott.
