Lecture: The Discovery of Gravitational Waves

Visit the Allegheny Observatory on Friday, February 19, at 7:30 pm to hear the lecture, “Discovery of Gravitational Waves by LIGO: News Conference and Questions Answered.” This lecture will be given by Jeffery Winicour from the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Pittsburgh.

This event is part of the 2016 Public Lecture Series that is offered at the Allegheny Observatory every third Friday of the month. The night starts at 7:00 pm with light refreshments. The lecture begins at 7:30 pm and lasts approximately one hour. After the lecture, there will be a tour of the building. Reservations are required for this event.
