WorkLaunch Career Connections and Workshops

Come to Carnegie Library – Allegheny and take part in job search workshops, employer information sessions, and individualized career counseling in this collaboration of Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh and Career Development Center. During the day, you can meet with Career Development Center staff for a free 30 minute career counseling session.Workshops include:

  • Safe & Efficient Online Job Searching – 10:30 to 11:30 am
    This workshop will teach you tips and tricks for how to make your online job search safer, more effective and efficient.
  • Interview Techniques – 11:30 am to 12:30 pm
    Learn interviewing techniques, how to negotiate offers, and how to transition into a new position.
  • Employer Information Session with Rivers Casino – 12:30 to 2:00 pm
    Representatives from Rivers Casino will hold an information session to discuss opportunities, career paths, and the application process for positions at the Casino.
  • Library Resources for Job Seekers – 2:00 to 3:00 pm
    Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh offers numerous electronic resources that are helpful to job seekers, including databases, downloadable eBooks, audio books, and more. This workshop will provide an overview of those resources.

WorkLaunch Career Connections and Workshops will be held on Wednesday, March 29, from 10:30 am until 3:30 pm at Carnegie Library – Allegheny, located at 1230 Federal Street. There is no cost to attend.
