Yoko Suzuki Trio Plays Jazz Standards and Original Songs at Alphabet City

City of Asylum @ Alphabet City, located at 40 West North Avenue, is the permanent home for City of Asylum programming and the arts. Enjoy an evening of jazz with the Yoko Suzuki Trio, playing a mix of jazz standards and original songs. Yoko Suzuki is an alto saxophonist working in Pittsburgh and New York City. She started to take classical piano lessons at the age of six. Throughout middle and high school, she also played the trumpet. Then she finally switched to the alto saxophone upon joining a jazz ensemble, teaching herself jazz theory, improvisation, and repertoire. Featured musicians include Yoko Suzuki on sax, Cliff Barnes on organ, and James Johnson III on drums.
