Yoko Suzuki Trio
Saturday, July 24 at 7:00 pm
Enjoy an evening of original jazz with the Yoko Suzuki Trio, playing a mix of jazz standards and original songs. Yoko Suzuki is an alto saxophonist working in Pittsburgh and New York City. After playing classical piano and trumpet, she switched to the alto saxophone upon joining a jazz ensemble at Osaka University in Japan, teaching herself jazz theory, improvisation, and repertoire. Joining Yoko Suzuki will be Cliff Barnes on keys and James Johnson III on drums. This event will be performed in person at the Sampsonia Way Tent and live-streamed online via City of Asylum @ Home.
