Alphabet Reading Garden Grand Opening

You Are Invited to the Alphabet Reading Garden Grand Opening

Come to the Grand Opening of the Alphabet Reading Garden to enjoy the blooms and artwork with your Northside neighbors.

A project of City of Asylum, Alphabet Reading Garden is an artist-designed garden – paved with custom-made bricks that are inscribed with hand-written alphabet letters in numerous character systems. The original letters in the bricks were contributed by neighbors and visitors to City of Asylum, so it is literally a community garden. The Alphabet Reading Garden anchors the residential end of City of Asylum’s “Garden to Garden Art Trail” that leads to the soon-to-be-opened Alphabet City in the Masonic Hall of the Garden Theater Block.

City of Asylum’s Alphabet Reading Garden is located at 1406 Monterey Street and will officially open on Sunday, August 7. The opening celebration will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Light appetizers will be served courtesy of Whole Foods. For more information, or to reserve your free spot, visit the Grand Opening event page, email info@cityofasylumpittsburgh.org, or call 412-323-0278.
