Join In the First National Aviary’s Christmas Bird Count

Birders, beginning birders, and non-birders alike are invited to join staff ornithologist, Bob Mulvihill, for the first-ever National Aviary Christmas Bird Count!

The National Aviary is home to hundreds of birds from around the world, and the challenge will be to find out how many of them you can observe and count in one day.  Bob will lead a team of interested beginning birders, and he invites (challenges!) visiting teams of experienced Pitts-birders to join in the fun of a friendly indoor winter birding competition.

The National Aviary’s Christmas Bird Count will be held on Friday, December 16. To register as a visiting team, or to reserve a place on Bob’s Beginning Birder team, email Bob at Robert.mulvihill@aviary.org by Wednesday, December 14. Participants must be at least 12 years old or otherwise accompanied by an adult. There is no extra charge for this special activity – it is included with regular admission. For more information, visit the National Aviary’s Christmas Bird Count event page.
