The New Hampshire woodblock printmaking advocacy and education organization, BIG INK, is assembling a giant portable printing press at Artists Image Resource (AIR) to help artists from the mid-west print large-scale woodblocks, some of which can reach nearly 4 x 8 feet in dimension. The public is invited to see twelve artists print their work on BIG INK’s giant mobile printmaking press at AIR’s facilities. This is the first time AIR will host BIG INK at their studio.
AIR will be hosting a two-day event from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 22 and Sunday, September 23, at their studio located at 518 Foreland Street. There will be hands-on demonstrations and the opportunity to witness the printing of monumental woodblock prints carved by artists from as far away as Detroit.
