Botanical Illustration Workshop

Be inspired by Jennifer Wen Ma’s A Winter Landscape Cradling Bits of Sparkle, the 2015 Market Square Public Art Program project, and take part in an illustration workshop offered by the Office of Public Art and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.

A Winter Landscape, on view until April 12, 2015, is a small forest in Market Square. The artwork features many varietals of trees, including bamboo, painted black with Chinese ink, blooming and evolving with the welcoming of spring. Workshop participants will be given a tour of the artwork and will then create their own illustration onsite. All skill levels are welcome, ages 16 and over.

The Botanical Illustration Workshop will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 10:00 until 12:00 pm, with botanical artist, Robin Menard.

Tickets for the workshop can be purchased online or by calling 412-391-2060 ext 237. All workshop materials for the project will be provided, but you can also bring your own. Workshop take place in rain, snow, or shine. In case of extreme weather, the workshop will be relocated indoors.
