Carnegie Museum of Art Maker Mixer: Rodney Allen Trice

Join Artist Rodney Allen Trice and Locally Sourced curator, Alyssa Velazquez, as they talk about Allen’s motto of never limiting yourself to a singular focus or idea. Following a return to Pittsburgh, Trice began opening up his practice to include more than furniture and lighting, increasing his scale and ambition. Once, as he says, “the wall was torn down,” the possibilities became endless. The talk will focus on this notion of not honing into one skill or idea as it pertains to Trice’s own work, with the hopes of inspiring others to explore new possibilities. New Year; new you.
In addition to conversation, a local distillery and/or bar will provide attendees with the recipe of a cocktail inspired by the maker and the evening’s discussion that can be easily made at home during or after the event.

Sponsored by Carnegie Museum of Art, the lecture by Rodney Allen Trice will be held virtually on Wednesday, January 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The cost of this event is Pay-What-You-Wish.
