Come to City of Asylum’s Alphabet City Tent to enjoy a showcase of Bhutanese culture featuring song, dance, and poetry.
The Children of Shangri-Lost will share their experience/journey from Bhutan to Nepal in refugee camps, and then to the United States. Participants will tell their stories through slideshows, storytelling, creative projects, poetry, drawings, painting, speeches, cultural performances and dance, shorts films and video!
Who are the Children of Shangri-Lost? A group of youth in Pittsburgh who want to show the world that despite being displaced and sometimes forgotten, they have not forgotten who they are and what they have to offer to the world. It’s a story of survival and hope.
Children of Shangri-Lost is free and will be held on Tuesday, July 5, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the Alphabet City Tent, located at 318 Sampsonia Way. For more information, or to reserve your free seat, visit the Children of Shangri-Lost event page, email info@cityofasylumpittsburgh.org, or call 412-323-0278.
