Pittsburgh Police Offer Community Procedural Justice Workshop

Join City of Pittsburgh Police Zone 1 for a Community Procedural Justice Workshop. This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the concepts of Procedural Justice and Police Legitimacy to members of the public in order to gain a greater understanding of the roles both Police and Communities have in improving their own legitimacy. The four main pillars of Procedural Justice – Voice, Neutrality, Respect, and Trustworthiness – will all be explained at length. The workshop analyzes the historical effects of Policing, and through a series of group exercises, it is demonstrated that ultimately both sides want the exact same things: fair treatment, respect, and understanding.

The Community Procedural Justice Workshop will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, February 2, at Manchester Citizens Council, located at 1319 Allegheny Avenue. Email pjzone1@gmail.com to RSVP.
