Desertion Trio is the creation of guitarist/composer Nick Millevoi. The band fearlessly explores the history of instrumental electric guitar music and throws it in a blender, creating an explosion of jazz, psychedelic blues, surf music, and country rock instrumentals. Noisey described the band’s sound as, “Supremely weird desert noir,” and NPR Music said the band, “Hits the sweet spot between Neil Young’s exploratory Crazy Horse jams and a spaghetti western soundtrack.”
