Enjoy a Downtown Walking Tour with British Connections
Tour guides from Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation will lead an entertaining walk in downtown Pittsburgh highlighting British connections in architecture, art, literature and even street names. You’ll hear what Charles Dickens and Anthony Trollope had to say about Pittsburgh. You will tour civic, religious, and commercial buildings associated with the Penn family, William Pitt, James Grant, and John Forbes, among others. Participants will briefly visit the Duquesne Club, Trinity Cathedral, First Presbyterian Church, Dollar Bank’s Heritage Center (with an original deed signed by John Penn), City-County Building, and First English Lutheran Church.
