Visit the Allegheny Observatory on Friday, August 19 at 7:30 pm to hear the lecture, “Building a Galactic Scale Gravitational Wave Observatory.” This lecture will be given by Maura McLaughlin, from the Department of Physics and Astronomy of West Virginia University.
This event is part of the 2016 Public Lecture Series that is offered at the Allegheny Observatory every third Friday of the month. The night starts at 7:00 pm with light refreshments. The lecture begins at 7:30 pm and lasts approximately one hour. After the lecture, there will be a tour of the building. Reservations are required for this event.
