Presented by 1Hood Media, and hosted by City of Asylum, Get Down Day is an all day dance party with live performances. Visitors have the opportunity to take class with the best street dancers in Pittsburgh and better their dance moves in three different styles of dance. In between each class, the music will continue with performances by 1Hood Media and the dance floor will be open. After the classes, there will be an exhibition battle you don’t want to miss between the Get Down Gang and Flowhio, a well known crew from Ohio. Once the exhibition is over, the floor will be open again for everyone to bless the floor!
Get Down Day is about educating the Pittsburgh community about the true essence of hip hop dance and culture, as well as the exemplifying the ability of hip hop culture to connect with the community for positive growth.
Get Down Day with 1HOOD is free and will be held on Saturday, July 30, from 12:00 to 8:00 pm at City of Asylum’s Alphabet City Tent. Donations will be accepted at the door. For more information, or to RSVP, visit the Get Down Day event page.
