Allegheny City Society is hosting a Lecture Series at Carnegie Library – Allegheny. This annual lecture series covers a wide variety of topics with interest in Allegheny City and Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Beginning the series this year will be a fascinating lecture and presentation by James Kastner on the History of Movie Theaters of the North Side. Did you know that our neighborhood had 30 theaters by the 1940s? Come learn where they were and learn about the interesting story of the moving picture business on the North Side.
Born on the North Side of Pittsburgh, presenter James Kastner is a member of the Theatre Historical Society of America and author of the book, Where the Movies Played in Downtown Pittsburg(h).
