Sembène Film Festival: James Baldwin – The Price of the Ticket
Tuesday, February 7 at 7:00 pm
Come to Alphabet City for a free screening of James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket, presented in partnership with Sembène – The Film & Art Festival and City of Asylum. James Baldwin was at once a major 20th century American author, a Civil Rights activist and, for two crucial decades, a prophetic voice calling Americans, Black and white, to confront their shared racial tragedy. James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket captures on film the passionate intellect and courageous writing of a man who was born black, impoverished, gay and gifted.
